THREE ISSUES I WILL BE DISCUSSING AT THREE EVENTS IN THREE COUNTRIES OVER THE NEXT THREE WEEKS:
18-19 May,Ulcinj, Montenegro,
CRITICISE THIS!
I am giving a talk on ‘Rethinking the idea of difference’ at one of a series of conferences in Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro on the arts, identity and social transformation organised by Criticise This!, a Zagreb-based critical arts project.
26 May, Brighton
WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE LINE?
I am chairing a discussion about the limits of free speech and artistic expression. The panel include Lloyd Newsom, Maryam Namazie, Jeremy Waldron and Tahmina Saleem. The event, which is in the Brighton Dome, Pavilion Theatre, at 4.30, is organised by Index on Censorship and is part of the Brighton Festival.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH MULTICULTURALISM?
A EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE
I am giving the Milton K Wong Lecture. Organised by the Laurier Institution, the University of British Columbia and CBC Radio One, which will broadcast the talk, the lecture will be at the UBC Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, 7pm.
So, if you are in Ulcinj, Brighton or Vancouver, do come along.

Really enjoyed the Vancouver lecture – stimulating, thought provoking and a much needed perspective.
