MULTICULTURALISM – THE BROADCAST

My Milton K Wong lecture, ‘What’s wrong with multiculturalism?’, that I gave in Vancouver earlier this month, was broadcast on CBC on Friday. I have already posted the transcript of the talk, in two parts, here and here. (The broadcast has been slightly edited to fit the CBC schedule; the transcript is in full.) Congratulations on the excellent lecture. I was already an occasional visitor of your blog, but I came across it separately since I follow the CBC Ideas podcasts (as a Brit living in the Netherlands)
I especially enjoyed your takedown of Chris Caldwell. It’s important to have a properly liberal voice on these issues and not allow the right to replace failed political multiculturalism with neo-Powellism. Diversity is about and for individuals.
